From Phuket, it was south into Malaysia, and a stop in Kuala Lumpur. Or KL as it is locally and universally known.

I've said it elsewhere on this site, if you want to see a tropical version of the UK, then head for Malaysia. There are so many things here, including their extensive use of English with a British-accent (so much of the world today learns English by American example), which make the Anglophile at home.

KL
is the Petronas Towers. A remarkable piece of architecture, civil engineering and, rightly so, Malaysian pride. At night, when driving on expressway-8 towards KL, between a cutting, and right on the horizon, you see the two towers, brilliantly illuminated. Not many things make you go "wow" in today's world, but this sight is one of them. A trip to the bridge spanning the two towers isn't as thrilling though, although the speed of the lift taking you there definitely is!

The bridge at the 42nd level joining the Petronas Towers. If you love stainless steel, stop what you're doing right now, and get here. More stainless than you could polish in a lifetime of devotion.
